Taking place at the Conrad Seoul Hotel, men don traditional kilts (or for the non-Scot, suits or tuxedos) and ladies wear their finest dresses for a black tie event featuring Scottish fare, whisky, and dancing!
No, your eyes did not deceive you, this is an all-night affair! Most St. Andrew's Balls held by other Societies around the world conclude before midnight. However, our ball ends at 4AM the next morning and a survivors breakfast awaits those as their reward for staying the course. This tradition harks back to the days when Seoul had a curfew, resulting in the celebration continuing on until the wee hours of the morning. For those new to traditional Scottish dancing or those who need to brush up on the dancing learned in their school days, we offer free dance practices at the British Embassy in the weeks leading up to the ball.
