1-8 1st lady into the centre of the dance, seven hands round and back 9-16 1st lady sets to and turns partner with two hands. then sets to and turns 3rd man (opposite} with two hands. 17-24 1st lady. 1st and 3rd men dance reel of three. 1st lady beginning by giving left shoulder to 1st man. 25-32 1st lady remains in centre; repeat bars 1-8 33-48 1st lady repeats bars 9-24 with 2nd and 4th men. At the end of the reel 1st lady returns to place and 2nd lady into centre.
Repeat seven times with 2nd 3rd and 4th ladies and all men each having their turn in the centre. then repeat the introduction dance

The first and fourth couples should now be in the same position where they started the arches. 29-30 First and fourth couples dance 1/2 rights and lefts 31-32 First and fourth couples turn partners

Music Bars 1-8 Rights and lefts starting with men giving right hands to the lady opposite (not their partners) until couples regain original places. 9-16 Set to partners twice, turn partners with both hands. 17-20 Ladies chain. That is, women giving right hands to one another,cross over and turn the opposite man by the left hand. Men dance towards partner's place to receive and turn opposite partners. 21-24 Repeat bars 17-20 but men turn own partner. 25-32 Pousette to change places with opposite couple thus progressing one place clockwise or counter clockwise.

On the second chord, 1st woman crosses over to the right hand side of her partner. Second man takes his partner's place while she moves to the top.
1-8 1st and 2nd couples right and left, giving right hand to opposite to begin. on bar 7, 2nd man gives his left hand to his partner and dances diagonally down the middle, offering his right hand to 1st woman, who has been handed over to him by 1st man.
9-12 2nd man between 1st and 2nd women, with hands joined, dance down the middle followed by first man. Release hands, all turn to face top, 2nd man turning 1st and 2nd women towards him, while 1st and 2nd men turn right about.
13-16 1st man gives left hand to his partner and right hand to 2nd woman, all three dance up the middle, 2nd man following. Finish at the top in a line of four across the dance and facing partner, men back to back in the middle, women on the side lines.
17-24 1st and 2nd couples set to each other with simple Strathspey steps.
25-32 1st and 2nd dance a reel of four across the dance. On bars 31-32, 1st woman progresses down to third place on men’s side of the dance, 1st man follows, progressing to second place, 2nd man dances round 1st man, passing left shoulders, to the top place on men’s side of dance, 2nd woman dances to top place on woman’s side of dance. 3rd woman steps up to second place and 3rd man moves across to his partner’s original place.

Suggested simple Strathspey steps – step forward on right foot and hop; step back on left foot and hop; step behind with right foot; step on left foot, then step slightly forward on right foot and hop.
