The St Andrew’s Society of Seoul was founded in 1976.
Our main function is to serve as a focal point for all things Scottish.
It is an absolute honour and privilege for me as chieftain to welcome you to the St Andrew’s Society of Seoul.
For almost fifty years, our society has been celebrating and sharing Scottish culture, music, and dancing with our friends in South Korea. Whether it is enjoying a wee dram at our Burns Night in late January, having a jig at our Muckleshunter Ceilidh in Spring, or having a ball at our St Andrew’s Ball at the end of the year, we are always so delighted to share our love and passion for Scotland with you all. When Sally McEachen asked me to preside as chieftain of the society, I was thrilled to take on this prestigious role. I have been involved in the committee for several years and will do my utmost to follow in her footsteps and ensure our society continues to put on fantastic events. Both Sally and her husband, Brian, having both served as chieftains, have been instrumental to the St. Andrew’s Society of Seoul, and on behalf of the committee we thank them dearly for all their time and effort they have dedicated over the years. Finally, the committee would also like to give a huge thank you to the British Embassy for their continued help and unwavering support to our society and allowing us to hold our Burns Nights, Muckleshunters and dance practices at Aston Hall. I am greatly looking forward to our upcoming events in 2024 and meeting up with everyone over a dram and a dance. Until then, take care and all the best! |
